Thailand raises end-of-year target for tourism to10 million

According to Thai News agency NNT, the number of international visitors to Thailand has now surpassed 4 million for the year. The country’s tourist industry is constantly being revitalized.

Currently, relevant organizations are thinking about tourist promotion strategies that would draw visitors to the Kingdom during the remainder of the year. The current objective is to welcome 10 million foreign visitors by 2022.

Anucha Burapachaisri, a spokesperson for the Prime Minister’s Office, reported that more than 4 million foreign visitors have visited Thailand so far this year. This number is anticipated to increase to 4.5 million within this month, exceeding the government’s objective of 10 million international visitors by the end of the year.

The top 5 nations from which visitors enter Thailand are Malaysia, India, Laos, Singapore, and the United Kingdom, in that order.

The Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) granted permission for international visitors to extend their stays, promote travel, and raise their spending on August 19, 2022, in an effort to boost tourism.

The duration of stay for nationals of nations exempt from a visa need is increased from 30 to 45 days beginning on October 1st, 2022, until March 31st, 2023. For individuals who apply for a visa upon arrival, their stay is increased from 15 to 30 days.
