WTA unveils World Travel Awards Asia and Oceania 2022 winners

At a celebrity-studded gala ceremony in Jamaica, the best travel companies from the Americas and the Caribbean were announced. The World Travel Awards (WTA) Caribbean & The Americas Gala Ceremony 2022 brought together the top of the travel industry to find out who among them had been named best of the best.

The WTA Grand Tour 2022, a worldwide search for the best travel and tourism organizations in the world, kicked off with a red carpet evening hosted at Sandals Montego Bay.

St. Lucia, a paradise island, triumphed as the “Caribbean’s Leading Honeymoon Destination,” beating out Turks & Caicos for the title of “Caribbean’s Leading Beach Destination.” The Bahamas were named the “Leading Luxury Island Destination in the Caribbean.” The Caribbean’s Leading Destination, Caribbean’s Leading Cruise Destination, and Caribbean’s Leading Tourist Board were all awarded to Jamaica, which gloriously emerged as a double victor.

The top winners from North America were Miami Beach, which won the title of “North America’s Leading City Destination,” Las Vegas, which won the title of “North America’s Leading Meeting & Conference Destination,” and New Orleans, which won the title of “North America’s Leading City Break Destination.” Miami Beach Visitor and Convention Authority also won the title of “North America’s Leading Tourist Board.”

Tulum was named “Mexico & Central America’s Leading Beach Destination,” while Acapulco received the top honor for “Mexico & Central America’s Leading City Destination.” Other winners included Peru, whose innovative cuisine earned it the title of “South America’s Leading Culinary Destination,” and Ecuador, whose cities Quito and Guayaquil both won awards for “South America’s Leading City Destination” and “South America’s Leading Meetings & Conference Destination,” respectively.

WTA had the privilege of recognising the industry’s driving forces from the leading nations from the length and breadth of the Caribbean and Americas regions. As stellar examples of tourism excellence, our winners have helped us to once again raise the collective benchmark”.

Jamaica’s GoldenEye won the title of “Caribbean’s Leading Boutique Resort,” Halfmoon won the title of “Caribbean’s Leading Hotel,” Round Hill Hotel & Villas won the title of “Caribbean’s Leading Villa Resort,” and Beaches Turks & Caicos won the title of “Caribbean’s Leading All-Inclusive Family Resort.” Sandals Resorts International also won the title of “Caribbe

Conrad New York Downtown, which won the title of “North America’s Leading Hotel,” and Malibu Beach Inn Hotel & Spa, which won the title of “North America’s Leading Boutique Hotel,” were among the notable winners from The Americas. The award for “Mexico & Central America’s Leading Green Hotel” went to Gaia Hotel & Reserve, and the honor for “South America’s Leading Hotel” went to Sofitel Legend Santa Clara Cartagena.

In the field of aviation, Sangster International Airport in Jamaica won the title of “Caribbean’s Leading Airport,” while Bahamasair was awarded “Caribbean’s Leading Airline.” The award for “North America’s Leading Private Jet Charter” went to Privé Jets.

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam (Asia & Oceania), Amman, Jordan (Middle East), Mallorca, Spain (Europe), and Nairobi, Kenya are the next cities with tournaments on the WTA Grand Tour 2022. (Africa & Indian Ocean).
